This family-owned three-bedroom house near Arisaig is a short walk from the sea, close to beautiful beaches, and has wonderful views of the Small Isles and the mountains of Skye. It’s perfect for a relaxing break or as a base to explore the area.
The Sheiling, Back of Keppoch
The Sheiling is a modern, three-bedroom bungalow situated on a quiet lane at Back of Keppoch, a mile from the picturesque village of Arisaig.
It sleeps five (or six if using the fold-down bed). There is a large drive with parking for two or three cars and a fenced garden surrounds the house, with a picnic bench and outdoor chairs. From the garden you can see the sea to one side and mountains to the other.
The living room has comfortable sofas, a desk and office chair, smart TV, excellent wifi, Bluetooth speaker and selection of games and puzzles. But the main attraction is the large picture window with its spectacular view of the Small Isles and the mountains of Skye. From here you can watch stunning sunsets.
The kitchen is well equipped with table and chairs for six, oven, touch control hob, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, large fridge and freezer, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a bath and shower and there is also a separate second toilet.
The first bedroom has a double bed and built-in wardrobe. Like the living room, it has fantastic views of the sea, the islands and our neighbours’ cows! Another double bedroom, at the back of the house, has twin beds which can be locked to form a king-size. A spacious built-in wardrobe provides plenty of room for your clothes and accessories.
Lastly, a third bedroom, between the two doubles, has a single bed and a small desk.
This is a perfect choice for your stay at the Back of Keppoch, whether you’re on holiday or you want to work from home in a more scenic and peaceful environment.
This was our first trip home in 5 years, and our first in decades to visit the village of Arisaig. Our stay was just perfect! The cottage was conveniently located close to the village but far enough away to give the sense of seclusion that we were looking for. The property is warm and welcoming, spacious and fully equipped. It has the most stunning views from all aspects. Talk about a room with a view… you won’t be disappointed!

We had a great time at The Sheilling at Back of Keppoch. This lovely bungalow is located in a very quiet position about 3kms outside of Arisaig with wonderful, uninterrupted views looking over to Skye, Eigg and Rum.
Everything you need for a comfortable holiday is provided by the owners. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and a living room which offers amazing views over to the islands and unforgettable sunsets. A welcome pack was provided listing all the local attraction and details of many walks around the area, allowing us to easily plan excursions.
A great location for exploring the beautiful surrounding area, Loch Morar and the lovely beaches of Silver Sands a short drive or cycle away. There is a small supermarket in Arisaig and a larger one in Mallaig.

We were lucky enough to have use of this wonderful home for our first ever visit to Arisaig. Homely, spacious, fully furnished, well equip and considerately run, this beautiful home from home truly is a wonderful place of rest and fabulous base from which to explore the surrounding gems.
