Simply stunning. You couldn’t wish for a more perfect place to spend with your dogs. A well-fenced garden with stunning views, only a hop and a skip to the sea. Wonderful beaches within easy reach that wouldn’t be out of place in the Caribbean. Lovely walks with the Harry Potter train just up the road in Mallaig. Super restaurants, with probably the best fish and chips at the Crofters rest in Arisaig. More delicious food at The Old Library also in Arisaig.
The cottage is lovely and had everything you would wish for with lovely views for all the rooms, particularly the living room with its enormous window looking out to the garden and beyond.
We loved our stay, despite the weather, which wild and windy to say the least. We will certainly be back!

A fabulous cottage based in a perfect position. Impeccably clean, lovely furnishings and bedding and a really well equipped kitchen. Communication was brilliant and we were put at ease from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Outstanding self-catering holiday home, perfect location. The house is very comfortable, clean and well-equipped. We had an amazing week despite the awful weather and all fell in love both with The Sheilling and the location. We are a family with two additional needs boys one is a teenager and the other a toddler, they had the best time exploring all the beaches and villages! Great base for exploring from we managed a trip to Knoydart and Skye during our stay. Planning to return in the future to explore more.

The house is very clean with a splendid view of the sea, the Isle of Skye and the cows! It’s nature and calm in its purest form! I highly recommend this house which is spacious and well equipped.

Amazing!!!! So homely and comfy. There was even consideration for my dogs, enclosed garden and a goody box with essential things you may forget. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend anyone to stay.

The location was fabulous just a short walk away from a few beautiful beaches! The cottage itself was clean, well furnished and very, comfortable with plenty of room. The enclosed garden was great for our dogs, also enjoyed seeing the neighbouring farm animals! We also had a chat with one of the few neighbours and they were really nice and welcoming to the area! Our host was very helpful before arriving with regards to check in, local amenities and trips etc. I can honestly say there were no negatives!

We loved our stay in the Sheiling. What a view from the living room! I loved waking up to go and sit here with my breakfast in the mornings. We got really lucky with the weather but outside seemed to be really sheltered too. All rooms were really nice and clean and the kitchen had everything we needed.

This was our first trip home in 5 years, and our first in decades to visit the village of Arisaig. Our stay was just perfect! The cottage was conveniently located close to the village but far enough away to give the sense of seclusion that we were looking for. The property is warm and welcoming, spacious and fully equipped. It has the most stunning views from all aspects. Talk about a room with a view… you won’t be disappointed! We are already planning our next trip!! 💙🏴💙

We had an amazing stay at the Sheiling. Beautiful view of beach from the living room and garden seats. Wonderful to sit and watch the sky changing as the sun set over the small isles. The house is very cosy and has been lovingly equipped. If you have forgotten something, I guarantee its already here – spare phone charger, games, even a sewing kit. The location is perfect, between Arisaig and the Traigh beaches. Teenage kids can be hard to please but they loved it here, especially the beaches and the local chickens 😀 We really could have stayed here forever, thank you for an incredible holiday!

We came across The Sheiling on a dog friendly Facebook page and it was a fantastic choice for us. We wanted somewhere quiet and out the way for Hogmanay as we have a dog who is terrified of fireworks. We were within walking distance of the beaches and there was some lovely walks on your doorstep, but also some a short drive away too.
The house itself was great and suited us perfectly. The rooms were spacious the view from the living room was fabulous the only downside for us was there was no dishwasher (however there is one being installed) and you weren’t allowed to use the fire (but this is advertised anyway) it’s just lovely to be able to come in after being out in the cold to a lovely log fire, but of course this didn’t stop us booking and we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Sheiling, and we would highly recommend this place if your are looking to stay in the Arisaig area.

We had a great time at The Sheliing at Back of Keppoch. This lovely bungalow is located in a very quiet position about 3kms outside of Arisaig with wonderful, uninterrupted views looking over to Skye, Eigg and Rum.
Everything you need for a comfortable holiday is provided by the owners. The cottage has 3 bedrooms and a living room which offers amazing views over to the islands and unforgettable sunsets. A welcome pack was provided listing all the local attraction and details of many walks around the area, allowing us to easily plan excursions.
A great location for exploring the beautiful surrounding area, Loch Morar and the lovely beaches of Silver Sands a short drive or cycle away. There is a small supermarket in Arisaig and a larger one in Mallaig.
An unforgettable experience staying in such a beautiful location in a lovely cottage. We can’t wait to return.

Our favourite things – beautiful views, clean home, comfy beds, washer and dryer, feeding the chickens, leaving a drawing/message on the board, the beaches nearby, the food at the Arisaig Hotel/Bar, the Arisaig Highland Games, the homemade jam and tablet gifted to us by our hosts.

We were lucky enough to have use of this wonderful home for our first ever visit to Arisaig. Homely, spacious, fully furnished, well equip and considerately run, this beautiful home from home truly is a wonderful place of rest and fabulous base from which to explore the surrounding gems. Beaches, walks, sunsets, day trips and memory making, at their best, all await. We were not disappointed and are already looking forward to our next trip later this year. Many thanks Watt family.
